Joan E. FontaineLeominster - Joan Ellen Fontaine, daughter of the late Aime and Florence (Preville) Fontaine, was born on November 8, 1940. Joan died October 30, 2016 in Gold Living Center, Fitchburg. She is survived by one sister, Constance (Fontaine) Comeau. She is also survived by four Godsons; Michael Comeau, Peter Carpentier, Nathan Fontaine, and Dominic W. Melanson, and one Goddaughter, Christina (Banks) Melanson along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her longtime "family", the Banks family. Joan is survived by her best friend, Ethel M. Smith.Joan graduated from St. Bernard's High School, Class of 1958. She was an Eucharistic minister at St. Cecilia's Church, Leominster. She was employed as a bookkeeper and office manager at Paragon Plastics for 29 years. Later, she was employed at Plastican for 15 years. She was also a volunteer at the Johnny Appleseed Visitors Center, Leominster. She belonged to the Leominster Business Professional Womens Organization.She was predeceased by three brothers; Henry, Raymond and Roland Fontaine and one sister, Jeannette (Fontaine) Thomas.Funeral InformationJoan's Funeral will be held Friday, November 4, 2016, from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West Street, Leominster, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Cecilia's Church, 168 Mechanic Street, Leominster at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
