Grady, JoanJoan Mae Grady (Petersen), age 81 of De Pere, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay WI. Joan was formally a resident of Lakewood, WI where she resided for over 50 years. Joan was born on December 27, 1934 to William and Irene (Scott) Petersen in Gillett, WI. Joan attended Gillett High School and was united in marriage to David Giese on May 5, 1951; they were blessed with three children. Joan and David were married for 42 years before David's untimely passing. Joan later met Patrick Grady and they were united in marriage on November 27, 1993 in Lakewood WI, they shared over 20 wonderful years of marriage together before her passing. Joan worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years and proudly served as the postmaster in Lakewood until she retired. Joan loved baking, playing her organ, studying genealogy, taking care of her many outdoor birds, and visiting with her extended family. Joan was also a member of the Lakewood Presbyterian Church and the local AARP chapter. Joan is survived by her husband, Patrick Grady, De Pere; sons, Herman Giese, Kankakee IL; Randy Giese, Abrams; daughter, Cynthia Kougl, West Bend; grandsons, Brandon (Jamie) Giese, Fond du Lac; Nicholas Giese, Abrams; granddaughters, Mandy (Luke) Krueger, Jackson; Casandra Kougl, West Bend; three sisters, Molly (Phil) Weylandt, Jennine (George) Piotrowski, and Mary Ellen (Merle) Weihing. Extended family includes: seven children, eighteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.Joan was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irene Petersen; husband, David Giese; sisters, Marie (Victor) Van Remortel, Violet (Marvin) Puymbroek, Hilda (Lester) Bahrke; brother, John (Doris) Petersen and two step-children. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 5 p.m. with service at 7 p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home located at 305 N 10th St, De Pere, WI 54115. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on November 4, 2016 at the Lakewood Forest Cemetery.
