Joan H. LesCalletteSalisbury-Joan H. LesCallette, age 53, of Salisbury, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 1, 2017.She was born on August 30, 1963 in Salisbury, the daughter of the late Carlton and Melba Baker Hastings.Joan graduated from Delmar Jr. Sr. High School in 1981 and went on to attend the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, graduating in 1987. She worked for Giant Food as a pharmacist for 28 years. She was a member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church, where she loved playing the piano and singing in the choir. In the last year, Joan organized a card ministry, she would send cards to church members and their families to remember special occasions or send words of encouragement.She is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, Pat LesCallette of Salisbury; brother, James Robert Hastings and his wife Elaine of Kingwood, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Heather and Pat Seiber and children, Tim and Robin Hastings and children, Kevin and Ilsa LesCallette and family, and Jenny and Brian Deshon and family.A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Allen Memorial Baptist Church, 1303 Snow Hill Road in Salisbury. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Dr. William Warren will officiate. Interment will follow the service in St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Allen Memorial Baptist Church, 1303 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804 for the Allen Memorial Traditional Music Program.Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
