Joan Lewis was one of one. A breathe of fresh air, a beautiful woman inside and out. Where ever she went she lit up the room as soon as she entered. Her heart was gold and she made sure that her love was felt by anyone she came in contact with. Family gatherings we all looked forward to her desserts. She made the best peach cobbler and banana pudding on the east coast. She loved to have us gathered, laughing and making memories. Joan showed up and showed out for every event. If it was important to you it was important to her and she made sure you felt her love and presence. She was born and raised in Newark, NJ. She lived a full life she was educated, had great careers for many years and she was able to travel the world. If there is one thing we can learn from her is to love and live life to fullest and always keep your family close.
Meeting her at heavens gates are her parents Momma Jennie and her Dad ….her beloved son Todd “Malik” , her dear niece Rhonda and her sister Muriel whom she loved so deeply and dearly. She is survived by her son Andre Sr. whom she loved so much, her 5 grandkids Andre Jr. , Noelle, Kyla, Cameron, and Tyler. She has 5 great grandkids Xavier, Azarra, Mason, Faith and Hope. She has two daughters in love Cynthia and Lezlie (who is in heaven waiting for her). She also has a great niece Shante and great great nieces and nephews that she loved and cared for, as well as a host of friends whose lives she has touched over the many years.
