Joan Morgan, 88, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Oct. 20, 2016 at her home while surrounded by her family. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 10 AM with funeral services to follow at 11 AM at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee's Summit, MO. Burial will be at the Lee's Summit Historical Cemetery following the service. Joan was born on Oct. 10, 1928 in Tulsa, OK and raised in the Catholic Church. She is the daughter of John Henry Korte and Mary Eva Uhrig. She married the love of her life, Jack Morgan, at 16 years old, on Nov. 25, 1945 in Sand Springs, OK. She was a loving housewife to her 7 children and her husband of 67 years. She enjoyed cooking at local elementary schools and also for her family especially during the holidays. She had a passion for genealogy and loved to share stories. She enjoyed square dancing, making square dancing badges, doing crossword puzzles, and tending to her roses. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Betty Jo Pinley, and 2 daughters, Barbara Ann Morgan and Janet Christine Morgan. Survivors include her children, Jack Morgan Jr., Joyce Heinitz, Marcia Becco, Jerry Morgan, Merry Campbell, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
