Joan W. Bennett1942 ~ 2013Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Joan W. Bennett, 71, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. She was born on April 14, 1942, in Franklin, Idaho, the daughter of Dallin Porter and Myrtle Carlson Woodward. She grew up in Franklin, graduating from Preston High School. She had lived in Minnesota, Michigan, Utah, Illinois, and South Dakota, returning to Franklin in 2000. She married Linden Ross Bennett in 1960. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Linden passed away in 2000.Joan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She volunteered at the Franklin Relic Hall and loved Franklin and family history. Joan dedicated most of her life to serving others and was a devoted friend to many. Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life. She most enjoyed the laughter at family gatherings. Joan is survived by her sons, Laine (Gail), Roy, Utah; Blake, Idaho; Vince (Theresa), Greenville, Mich.; Shawn (Julie), Richmond, Utah; and Shane (Alyson), Gilbert, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, and sister, Shauna (Jeff) Bowen, Soda Springs, Idaho.She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Chantel; parents, and sister, Darlis Woodward.Graveside services will be held Monday, June 10, 2013, at noon at the Franklin, Idaho cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the LDS Chapel in Franklin following the services.
