ODESSA - JoAnn McCown, 59, left this world on Sunday November 13, 2016 to join our heavenly Father and rejoice with Jesus Christ and her dearly departed loved ones who passed before her. JoAnn was born on August 26, 1957 in Odessa, TX to Joseph H. McCown & Helen Caton McCown. She is survived by her sisters Katherine Brown of Odessa, TX & Patty Thomas and husband William of Cedar Hill, TX; her nephews Travis Brown & Kyle Wagner; her nieces Trina Brown, Kathryn Thomassee and husband Trey, Jeri Lynn Getz and husband Mike, and Jonei Reinli; & her great nieces and nephews Laurelai Gillis, Isabella Gillis, Tyler Wagner, Kyle Wagner Jr. JoAnn was an avid member of the church and loved nothing more than worshipping our Lord. For someone that suffered with a seemingly torturous mental illness, she always managed to maintain a positive outlook and kind heart. She loved to dance and sing and share her love for the Lord with others. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday November 21, 2016 at Sherwood Church of Christ, officiated by Brother Lynn Money. Interment follows at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences to the family may be sent online at acreswestfuneral.com.
