It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Willie 'Joe Carter, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Willie was born on March 26, 1941, in Longwood, Florida, to loving parents, John and Mary Carter. He peacefully departed from this world on July 9, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Willie's life was centered around his family and community. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 57 years, Martha Carter, and together they built a strong and loving family. Willie was a pillar of strength and a role model for his children, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to know him.

Willie graduated from Longwood High School, where he excelled academically and formed lifelong friendships. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Florida, a testament to his intelligence and ambition.

In his professional life, Willie was a respected entrepreneur and successful business owner. He founded Carter Manufacturing, a local company that became widely known for its excellence and commitment to quality. His leadership and dedication were the driving forces behind the company's success and growth.

Despite his busy schedule, Willie always found time to give back to his community. He was a passionate supporter of numerous charitable organizations and donated both his time and resources to those in need. His generosity touched the lives of many, and his selflessness will always be remembered.

Outside of work, Willie had a variety of interests and hobbies. He was an avid golfer and spent countless weekends on the golf course, enjoying the sport he loved. Willie also had a great love for nature and enjoyed outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing. His adventurous spirit and love for exploring the world around him were truly inspiring.

Those who knew Willie will remember him for his kindness, compassion, and incredible sense of humor. He had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel special and loved. Willie had a contagious laughter that could brighten any room and a smile that could warm even the coldest of hearts.

Willie leaves behind a profound and lasting impact on the lives of his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted wife, Martha Carter; his children, Michael (Jennifer) Carter, Susan (David) Davis, and Emily (Robert) Thompson; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Olivia, Samuel, Jacob, Grace, and Ava; and a wide circle of extended family and friends.

A celebration of Willie 'Joe Carter's life will be held on July 15, 2023, at Longwood Community Center. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Willie's honor to the American Cancer Society, an organization that was dear to his heart.
