Rau, Joanne Marie (Olson) age 82, of Sun City West, AZ, & formerly of Prior Lake, MN, passed away on February 2, 2017 surrounded by family. She was born on August 29, 1934 in St. Cloud, MN. She was the eldest of 8 children, & a graduate of Cathedral High School & the University of MN. She was the devoted mother of 5 children, & a great dental hygienist for 40 years. She was an avid golfer, religious volunteer, and bargain hunter. She loved baked goods, travel, crafts, puzzles, reading, the songs of Dean Martin, & Bradley Cooper. "Dear" was a beautiful, caring person, & a wonderful, loving mother & grandmother. She is greatly missed. She is survived by her children Kelley Anne (Dave) Chromy of Prior Lake, MN, Kimberly Rau of Sun City West, AZ, Karen (Matt) Krueger of Longville, MN, & David Rau of Waconia, MN; her beloved grandchildren Natalee Anne (Tyler) Chromy De Jarnett, Amanda Jo Chromy, Jacob (Trish) Chromy, Beth Chromy, & Mitchell (Megan) Krueger; her adorable great-granddaughter Alexandria Anne De Jarnett; her siblings Jackie (Ray) Lees, Jeri (Jack) Witzany, Jeanne Potter, Jocy (Mark) Forslund & Jonathan Olson; her brother-in-law, Roy Nelson; & her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, & cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Richard Rau; her son, Jeffrey Rau; her parents, Fritz & Frances (Heim) Olson; her infant brother, James Olson; her sister, Judy Nelson; & her granddog, Tess. Joanne's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City West, AZ at 10:00am on February 25, 2017.
