JoAnne Dolores Rianda, 74 of Soledad passed away, Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. She was born December 11, 1940 in Salinas, CA. JoAnne attended Soledad Elementary, Gonzales High School, Class of 1958 and completed Business School at Armstrong College in Berkeley CA in 1960. JoAnne was a secretary for over 40 years and began her career in Salinas at the John O. Breschini Insurance Agency until the birth of her daughter Renee. She then worked part time for AH Clark and Sons in Soledad and eventually became the first full-time secretary for the Mission Union School District in Soledad and worked there until her retirement.
She was a member of the Young Ladies Institute #83- Soledad, Our Lady of Solitude Altar Society, La Ticinella Club, Gonzales Young Farmers and the Monterey County Swiss-American Club. JoAnne was known for her "Cowboy Cake", culinary talents, needlepoint, crochet and craft items which she proudly displayed throughout her home. Her kind disposition and thoughtfulness touched many throughout the valley. She will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents Lino and Frances (Borzini) Franscioni, her husband, Leroy Robert Rianda in 1989, and brother-in laws Emile "Butch" Rianda, Milton Rianda, mother-in law Maria Rianda and niece Lynn Rianda.
She is survived by her daughter, Renee (Thad) Rianda of Woodland, CA., son, Neal Rianda of Soledad, sister Linda (Dan) Yop of Salinas, nephew, Ryan Yop of Salinas, brother-in-law, Elmer Rianda of Soledad, sister-in-law, Norma Rianda of Soledad, nieces Janet Rianda (Mike) of Arroyo Seco, Anne Rianda of San Francisco along with many cousins in the Salinas Valley and Switzerland. - See more at: http://www.struveandlaporte.com/obituary/JoAnne-Dolores-Rianda/Soledad-CA/1505673#sthash.rtpIffFy.dp...
