Joe Conquest, 84Muncie - MUNCIE- V. Joe Conquest, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at his residence.He was born on November 12, 1932 in Muncie, the son of Lindsy and Nettie (Eubanks) Conquest. Joe graduated from Muncie Central High School.  After high school, he served his country honorably in Korea, as a mechanic in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  Joe received his Accounting Degree from Ball State Teachers College.Joe worked at Chevrolet in the personnel/accounting office for many years and was Chief Accountant for Chevrolet Muncie when he retired.  Mr. Conquest loved to read and enjoyed bowling, golfing, and watching sports.  Joe also enjoyed listening to music, especially jazz and beat music.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge.Surviving are one sister, Jacqueline Phillips of Phoenix, AZ; two nephews, Michael Burton (wife, Sandra), Muncie, and David Nicholson (wife, Patty), Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.         He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Conquest; his parents; and two sisters, Margaret Mahoney and Betty Nicholson.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.  Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Air Force and the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 12:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2017.    Memorial contributions may be directed to Cancer Services of East Central Indiana- Little Red Door, 2311 W.
