Joe C. Silva, 68, of Las Cruces passed away on Monday, September 4th, 2017. He was born on February 18th, 1949 in Anthony, Texas to Jesus and Maria Silva. His sisters are Kathy Zertuche (Gavino), Rose Ruckel (Greg), Otilia Sanchez, Wilma Martinez (Fred). He Married Emma D Silva on August 1st, 1981 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is a graduate of Mayfield High School (1967) and of New Mexico State University (Bachelor of Individualized Studies - 2010). He proudly served in the military and was a Sergeant in the United States Army (642nd Maintenance Company). Some of his hobbies were woodwork, art, painting, collecting classic cars and listening to music. He was very proud of his 4.0 GPA at New Mexico State University. He leaves behind his spouse: Emma D. Silva, Children: Jaime Reyes, Jr (Tracy), Steve Silva, Jeannine Gonzales (Amy), Denise Silva, Jeffrey Reyes, Valerie Silva (Ricky), Grandchildren: Richard Flores, Bryant Sanchez, Alyssa Reyes, Onix Silva, Jordan Sanchez, Adrian Rivera, Miranda Rivera, Alicia Silva, Erika Reyes, Devin Tarango and Great-grandchildren: Layla Flores. As well as In-laws: Mila Buntsma (Charlie), Fred Dominguez (Polly), Tony Dominguez (Lilly), Janet Monje (Larry) and Many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is Predeceased by: Jesus and Maria Silva (parents), Van Silva (brother), Narda Holland (sister), Oscar and Mary Dominguez (in-laws).Joe Silva's visitation will be on Thursday, September 5th, 2017 at St. Genevieves Catholic Church,100 S Espina St, Las Cruces, NM 88001, at 9:00am with Rosary to be said at 10:00am with Mass to Follow at 10:30am. He will then be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memory Gardens immediately after the services. Pallbearers will be Jaime Reyes, Jr, Steve Silva, Adrian Rivera, Angel Peyton, Ricky Tarango, Larry Monje and Honorary Pallbearers: Pete Gonzales, Angel Barrio, Herman Ortiz, Chicho Gonzales. Following the burial there will be a reception at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 980 N. 17th.
