Johanna M. RomanelliBeacon - Johanna M. Romanelli, age 94, died on Friday, March 31, 2017.Johanna was born on July 1, 1922 in Highland, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Filomena Esposito Conforti. She graduated from Highland High School and the Poughkeepsie Business Institute. On November 28, 1943 Johanna married Joseph A. Romanelli at St. Augustine's Church in Highland. Joseph predeceased her in 2001.Johanna's business career was spent in banking, starting at the First National Bank in Highland and proceeding to the Fishkill National Bank in Beacon and the Beacon Savings and Loan Association, where she was Assistant Vice President. She retired as Beacon Branch Manager of the Hudson Valley Federal Savings and Loan Association.Johanna was a parishioner of St. Joachim - St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon as well as a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Lodge, Order Sons of Italy in America.Johanna is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Romanelli of Beacon; her sisters-in-law, Jeanne Cole and her husband, Richard of Endwell and Rose Polhemus of Beacon; her brother-in-law, Albert Romanelli and his wife, Rosemary of Fishkill. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, John, Frank and Patsy Conforti and her twin sister, Jennie Spinella.The family will receive their friends on Monday, April 3 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, April 4 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, 325 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
