John Waldschmidt , 75, of Lonsdale, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2021 at Cottagewood Senior community in Rochester, Minnesota. John was born on March 08, 1946 to Elliot and Edna (Lickteig) Waldschmidt.
Most of Johns childhood was spent on the family farm in Iowa. He was the 4th of 9 children. John went into the seminary where he completed his schooling. He then met his wife Nancy, and they married on July 7th, 1975.
Over the years John has enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, and camping. John worked at Thermo King as an electrical engineer for 38 years before retiring.
John is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Jeanna Carlson and two granddaughters Emily (Mitchell) Vlasak and Kaitlyn Carlson. He is also survived by his siblings Pat Keith, Rita (Ted) Jennings, Bill (Mary) Waldschmidt, Bob (Marilyn) Waldschmidt, David (Dorie) Waldschmidt, Tom (Jeri) Waldschmidt, and Virginia (David) Thom. Along with many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Joan Thompson.
Before John became ill he chose to donate his body to science so he could continue to help others. There will be a celebration of life at the Lonsdale American Legion on Saturday, July 17th, from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
