CAPUTOJohn A. John A. Caputo, 79, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. A lifelong resident of Toledo, John was born on January 27, 1937, to Angelo J. and Dorothy (Kern) Caputo and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1955. He retired as a machinist with Toledo Scale and then for over 40 years, owned and operated Sports Line, Inc. in East Toledo. Being an avid hockey fan, John founded TOYHA. He loved all sports and coached Peewee baseball and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. He owned many horses and harness raced at Toledo Raceway Park.John is survived by his son, Randy (Nadine) Caputo; daughter, Donna (Rick) Collins; grandchildren, Rachael, Ryan, Chad, Dustin, Christopher and Jake; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great-great-granddaughter, and brother, Robert (Cecelia) Caputo. He was preceded in death by his father, Angelo; mother, Dorothy Austin, and son, Gary Caputo.A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the Freck Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. where services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
