John E. "Jack" Bloner, Sr.1926 - 2016 John E. "Jack" Bloner Sr., 90, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Brookdale Assisted Living.He was born on June 4, 1926, in Kenosha to the late John J. and Selma (Klar) Bloner. Jack entered the U.S. Army on Nov. 22, 1946, receiving the American Theater Ribbon, the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on Aug. 30, 1946.At an Eagles Club dance, he met and fell in love with Eunice M. Schneider. They married in Kenosha on Oct. 8, 1949. He worked with one brother at Bloner Electric and another in door another in door-to-door sales, before he landed a job at American Motors. He worked for AMC/Chrysler for 31 years, retiring in 1978, and was a member of UAW Local 72.Jack and Eunice raised three children on Kenoshas south side and took them on many trips with their camper trailer during winters to Florida and summers to the Rocky Mountains. Jack loved the mountains, and he and Eunice continued to travel west after they retired.Jack enjoyed over 30 years of retirement, which allowed him to pursue many creative endeavors. He taught photography at St. Mary Catholic School, through the 4-H program, and toured with the Tremper High School Golden Strings as their principal photographer.Beginning in 1986, he began creating television programs for the community TV channel, sharing his passions for WWII aircraft, local history, and classic and vintage cars. His adage was, "learn something new every day."John is survived by his wife Eunice of Kenosha, his children Patricia Slagoski of Belleville, Wis., Nancy (Steven) Singer and John E. (Roberta) Bloner Jr. both of Kenosha, his grandchildren, Jeremy, Lee, Kate, Kristen, Joshua, Ryan, Paul and Annie, and two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Lennon.He was preceded in death by his siblings, Leonard, Josetta, Raymond, Kenneth and Margaret.Private family services will be held.
