John J. "Boots" "Tiny" Bonavita, Jr., 50 of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 8, 2014, at his home. He was born on January 4, 1964, in Meshoppen, to John J. Sr. Auburn, and the late Mary Ann Bonavita.He is survived by his six siblings, Cherie Bonavita, Cindy Bonavita, Patty Bonavita, Chris Bonavita, Lori Bonavita, and Stanley and his wife, Jennifer Bonavita, all of Auburn Twp.; nephews, Alex, Kyle and Austin Bonavita; niece, Autumn Bonavita; extended family, Kevin Palmer, Springville, Nicole Brooks Jayne, Springville; companion, Teri Brady, Rome; aunts, uncles, and cousins."Boots" graduated from Elk Lake in 1981 and was active in soccer, wrestling, and baseball. After high school, he enjoyed bowling, and played softball for "Bonavita Trucking," in a men's league, and also for a 50-50 league. After school, "Tiny" worked as a truck driver, his first job was working for his father with Bonavita Trucking. He also worked for Hughey Trucking, AC Tyler Trucking, and his last company was Aqua Vac Transport. John was very fond of his nephews and niece, his Facebook page was filled with their pictures.A Funeral Service was held Monday, December 15, 2014, at the Daniel K. Regan, Montrose, with Pastor Gary Myers of Biblical Baptist Church, Meshoppen, officiating. Interment will be in the Jersey Hill Cemetery, Auburn Twp., Visitations were held Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
