Dr. John Byrd Webb, Jr.Townsend, TNDr. John Byrd "Johnny" Webb, Jr. of Townsend died unexpectedly on August 24, 2017 in Memphis, TN at the age of 64.Johnny was born on September 4, 1952, in Townsend Tennessee to John Byrd and Elizabeth Webb. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 1972 as a Pharmacist. He married Misha Hill Durmeier Webb, of West Memphis, AR. in 2014. Most recently Johnny worked for Pharmedium in Memphis, TN as a Pharmacist. Over the course of Johnny and Misha's relationship a blended family became one. His children remember him as a passionate and adventurous Father who encouraged them to explore the world, always be learning, and pursue their goals.Johnny was a dauntless individual who loved travel, having visited over thirty countries. He was passionate about helping others, and was an Ordained Missionary of the United Methodist Church, serving missions in Honduras, Sudan, and Uganda. He was an active and honored member of the Boy Scouts of America, achieving Order of the Arrow, was a three time Vigil award winner, BOA's highest honor, and often volunteered at Camp Buck Tom. Johnny was an avid hiker and adventurer, and had hiked every marked trail of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. He was also an active member of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. He is preceded in death by his father, John Byrd Webb.Johnny is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Tipton Webb of Townsend; wife, Misha Hill Durmeier Webb; Daughter Whitney Elizabeth Webb, of New York, NY; stepchildren, Lindsey Durmeier King, Paul Dylan Durmeier, Emily Rose Durmeier; Amanda Durmeier North, her husband Lee North and their daughter Alayna June North; and Brothers & Sisters-in-law, Gary & Tiffany Johnson Webb of Seymour, and Wayne & Catherine Alexandre Webb of Beaufort, SC; Nieces and Nephews, Alex, Grant, Michael, & Katie. Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 27, 2017 at
Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 28, 2017 at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hannah's Hope of Memphis TN (
