Gentz, John C.John C. Gentz, 85, Green Bay, died peacefully Wednesday, May 3, 2017 following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born on November 16, 1931, in Shawano, WI to Louis and Anna (Schaufburger) Gentz.John served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Nagoya, Japan during the Korean War. Following the war, John married Betty Green at St. Mary's Catholic Church in De Pere. He worked for West Side State Bank, the Dept. of Transportation, and drove for Lamers Bus Lines for 18 years until his retirement. John enjoyed playing tennis, golfing, traveling, spending time on his 40 acres, and tinkering with anything that was broken in his workshop.He is survived by his wife, Betty; his children and their spouses, Lynn and Bob Panure, Steve and Mary Gentz, Julie and Michael Jarrard; grandchildren, Ryan, Connor, Jessica, Jadyn, Joshua, Kali, Tyler; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.John was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jared; his brother, George Gentz; sisters and their spouses, Marge and Okel Hoffman, Millie and Frank Johanek, Marie and Wally Gresen.Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
