John Charles "Jack" Walton, age 86, of McGill Rd., in Corsica, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, as a resident of the Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Jack was born on November 8, 1930, to the late Donald T. and Charlotte E. (Guthrie) Walton, in Struthers, OH. On May 29, 1954, Jack married Catherine L. (Davis) Walton in Corsica. For over 62 years they have shared love and companionship. Catherine survives him. He was also a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and served his country faithfully during the Korean conflict. Starting in 1946, Jack worked for Stercks in Brookville and he was with them until 1950 when he switched careers and ended up working as the head meat cutter for A & P. He stayed with them until his retirement. Jack was a member of the Brookville Fraternal Order of Eagles, #983, and a member of the VFW Brookville, Post 204. He enjoyed spending time outside whether it was hunting with his son or grandson or simply mowing the grass. He liked country western music and he loved to care for his beautiful garden. Jack was a great cook. There were no recipes but he made the best of everything. He loved his family very much and he loved being with his wife Catherine. Other than his family, the thing he loved most in life was being able to ride, work on, and tinker with, his John Deere Tractor. His work ethic was hard to match. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by 3 daughters, Pam Walton, Dawn Walton, Cindy Corcoran, all of West Palm Beach, FL; 1 son, Cleve (Dayna) Walton of Corsica; 1 brother, Gene Walton of Brookville; 2 sisters, Judy Stahlman of Indiana and Donna Crowley of Lake Worth, FL; 3 grandsons, Ryan and Kelly (Lindsay), both of West Palm Beach, FL and Josh (Tina) of Edward's, CA; 2 granddaughters, Amanda of West Palm Beach, FL and Katie (TJ) of Brookville. In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by 1 brother, Jerry Walton. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, November 17, 2016, from 6 - 7 pm at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville. There will be no public funeral service.
