John Charles Colwell1946 - 2013John Charles Colwell, 66, of Gurnee, Ill., passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013. He was born on Aug. 24, 1946, in New York, NY to John and Winifred Colwell.On Feb. 6, 1988, off the shore of Lahaina, Hawaii, he married Amy Baranowski. Johns career began as an electrical engineer and later as a marketing consultant. As an accomplished sailor, his true passion was sailing and being at the harbor where he was a long standing member of the Kenosha Yacht Club. John also enjoyed reading, cooking for friends and family, traveling adventures, loved doo wop music, and being part of heated, friendly debates.John will be deeply missed by his wife, Amy; daughters, Kim (Danny) Bresen and Sandy (Michael) Bautsch; grandchildren, Nicholas Bresen, and David and Adam Bautsch; brother, Harry (Gina) Colwell; niece, Tara (Keith) Corey and extended family and friends. He is further survived by his former wife, Lynn Marvin.A gathering in Celebration of Johns life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Kenosha Yacht Club, 5130 4th Ave., Kenosha, WI, 53140.
