John was born March 23, 1951, to Mary Louise Scurry (Brown at the time} and father, John D Jones. John was born and raised in Washington, DC; attended Giddings and Lennox Elementary school in SE DC, and Hine Jr High School in SE DC. John received a Certificate in Security around the early 80’s. John worked several different jobs in his lifetime; John was a survivor. He always made it through that storm. No matter where John went, he was always remembered, and everybody liked him. He loved his old school music and some jazz as well. John also liked to draw. He will be missed so much, it’s going to be a great adjustment in our family without John’s physical presence, although he’ll always be in our hearts. He is survived by [1 sister} Linda Brown, {2 Brothers} Michael and Mark Brown, sister-In-laws. Janette Simmons Brown and Zola Ayers; Countless nieces and nephews and a flew of other family and friends. Not goodbye, see you later brother…You fought a good fight. You will always be missed and in our hearts Love you.
“Oh Brother” “ So Long Everybody”
This is just to say hello Don’t be sad for me.
You know we miss you Life was a heartache.
and sad to see you go and now I’m finally free.
I know you are much better now Don’t know where I’m headed.
And happy as can be Hope I’ll see you someday.
Because of all the peace you have so long Everybody
and no more suffering I have gone beyond the moon.
