John (Jack) David Duffy, 79, of Rome, PA, formerly of Warren Center, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, November, 21, 2016, after a period of declining health.Jack was born on June 11, 1937 in Vestal, NY, the son of William and Junia Duffy. He graduated from Vestal High School and was a gifted athlete in basketball and baseball. Jack was employed by IBM in Owego, NY as a Systems Analyst for 35 years. On May 4, 1958 he married the love of his life, Linda Lee Pitcher, at the Warren Center Baptist Church. They resided in Warren Center for 55 years before moving to Rome in 2015. Jack was a devoted friend and family man. Jack's wife, Linda Lee Duffy (Pitcher), 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. She could no longer fight without her best friend by her side. Linda was born on August 4, 1939 in Warren Center, PA, the daughter of Lloyd and Ava Pitcher. She attended Warren Center School and graduated from Northeast Bradford High School. Linda was a loving wife and caring mother to their three children.Together, Linda and Jack enjoyed time spent camping, flower gardening, vacationing at Dewey Beach, shopping at flea markets, playing family card games, and attending Northeast Bradford sporting events. Their six grandchildren and great granddaughter brought much joy and laughter to their lives.Jack and Linda are survived by their three children, David and Jonna Duffy, Robin Duffy and Matt Smith, and Becky and Tim Cole; five grandchildren, Joshua Cole, Jacob Cole, Garret Smith, Zakary Smith, and Jaime and Bradley O'Connor; and a special great granddaughter Adeline O'Connor. They were predeceased by their parents, and a grandson, Tyler Clingerman.Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at Orwell Valley Cemetery on Sunday, November 27, at 1:00 in the afternoon. Those who wish may kindly consider a memorial contribution to the Warren Township Volunteer Fire Company or H.O.P.S. Ambulance, in loving memory of Jack and Linda Duffy.
