John Nolan Jr (Big John) passed away peacefully on March 14, 2019. He was born December 15, 1954 in Washington DC to the late John Edward Nolan Sr and Alice Jean Nolan of Washington DC. John was educated in the district of Columbia public school system and graduated from chamberlin High school while also participating in job Corps (1972). Best of times with the 11th Street Crew ( Steve, Brenda, Chalita, Carolyn and the Hill Boys.In 1974 John started working at Washington terminal/Amtrak and stayed until 1982 to embark on a 30 year career as a driver/supervisor at American Potomac, United States Postal Service, JR Ritter and BSC America. John was a avid lover of music, sports and cooking. cooking was a passion to him. He was famous for his baked spaghetti, seafood salad, Maryland crab soup, gumbo and California lemon pound cake to name a few. He was his happiest in the kitchen listening to old school jams while watching the Redskins. He was a loving husband, father, Gpah and friend. He enjoyed life to the fullest, never complained, he was kind hearted and generous. He expressed himself through Music, food, cards, his laugh and by always crying! He would only ask for one thing RESPECT! He was admired by all he came in contact with and left lasting memories with everyone.Left to cherish his memories is his wife Rachael Nolan, children John III, Jerome, Quanda, Psalms and Tamika. A son-in-law Govan Blanton, A daughter-in-law LaShawn Nolan, 13 grandchildren, Mae Nolan(aunt), Rick Jackson & Steve DuBose(buds) and a host of other relatives and friends.
