John Francis FlemingResident of Los AltosJohn Francis Fleming died on December 1, 2016, near his longtime home in Los Altos. John is survived by Dolores, his wife of 59 years; his daughter, Beth House of San Diego, CA; his sons, John of Los Altos, CA and Joseph of Danville, CA; and three grandchildren: Daniel, Benjamin, and Stephanie House. His son, Michael, died in 1985.John was born on February 10, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA. He earned two B.Sc. degrees from Drexel Institute of Technology, one for the study of mechanical engineering in 1954 and the other for electrical engineering in 1962. He spent 38 years of his professional life as an engineer at Space Systems Loral in Palo Alto. He was an active member of St. Simon Catholic Church. His volunteer work included positions with the Serra Club and the American Legion.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place today, December 7, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Simon Catholic Church, 1860 Grant Rd., Los Altos, CA 94024.
