Rogers, John Hawley, Dr. 91, entered his heavenly home on December 24, 2015, in Wichita. John was born on December 3, 1924, in Johnson City, TN the son of Christian Edly and Ada (Hawley) Rogers. He was educated in TN and received his dental degree from UT, and later, his orthodontic degree from UMKC. He practiced in Wichita for 40 years. John served in the United States
Army during the
Korean War. John was involved in various dental organizations in Wichita, East Side Kiwanis Club in Wichita and served as deacon at Eastminster. John enjoyed traveling, playing golf, gardening and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, DeeDee (Dunning) Rogers; sister, Elizabeth Greenblatt; brother, Edly Rogers. Survivors include his loving wife, Sara S. Rogers; daughters, Deane Weiss (Robert), Steamboat Springs, CO, Dr. Elizabeth Jacobs (Bruce, Milwaukee, WI, Kathryn Stewart, Denver, CO; stepsons, Dr. Stephen (Donna) Porter, Valley Center, KS, David (Nancy), Orlando, FL, Porter; grandchildren, David Weiss (Terra), CO., Rayna Weiss, CO, Ada (Mario) Zavala, WI, Dexter Jacobs, Dallas, Kasey (Jacob) Williams, Wichita, James (Jamie) Porter, Wichita, Kelsey Porter, Wichita, Keley (Mark) Sulawske, N.C., Jonathan Porter, Valley Center. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Rd. Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Rd. Wichita, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market St., Wichita or Wichita Children Home, 810 N. Holyoke St., Wichita.
