John J. CocchieriNaples, FLJohn J. Cocchieri was born on March 22, 1927 in New York, NY to Peter and Theresa (Savino) Cocchiere. He attended High School in New York City and after graduation joined the Maritime service before enlisting in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he was a combat veteran in the 45th Thunderbird Infantry Division. Upon his honorable discharge from the US Army and return to civilian life, he became a police officer with the New York City Police Department and later became a NYPD Detective. He also served as a US Department of Defense Special Agent. He met and married Eleanor Marino and had he lived to May 4, 2017 they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. During his life John enjoyed outdoor outings that involved golfing, fishing, walking on the pier, then Sunday family dinners. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Cocchieri, three sons: Richard Cocchieri (Patricia), Peter Cocchieri (Melissa), and John Cocchieri (Janet) along with one daughter: Lori Teague (Keith). One sister: Jean Moccia. One sister-in-law, Sadie Cocchiere. Seven grandchildren: Rick, Brittany, Christopher, Cassandra, Caterina, Kristina, and Jaqueline. One Great Granddaughter: Talia Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Theresa Cocchiere, one brother, Angelo Cocchiere and three sisters: Lee Lima, Stella Greco and Marie Conenello. A memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 1 PM at Fuller Funeral Home at 1625 Pine Ridge Road. Online condolences may be made by visiting
