Balbach, John Joseph Sr,65, passed away on June 29, 2017 at Baptist Health Louisville Hospital.John was born on May 30, 1952 in Louisville. After graduating from St. Xavier in 1970, he went on to earn a degree in accounting from Murray State University in 1974. A Certified Public Accountant, John was a longtime partner with Dean Dorton. John was a member of the KYCPA, AICPA, Our Lady's Rosary Makers, and served many years on the board of the Tom Sawyer Foundation. He was an active member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.John was preceded in death by his father Joseph Francis Balbach Sr.He is survived by his wife Cathy Balbach of Louisville; his children, John Balbach Jr. (Elizabeth); Joanie Duckworth (P.J.); and Sarah Kaiman (Kyle); his mother Marcella Balbach; his two grandchildren; six brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East, Louisville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road, Louisville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Xavier or Trinity High School Annual Funds.
