John Joseph Daly IV, 75, of Petaluma, California passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. John was born to John Joseph Daly III and Florence Rose in San Francisco on August 18, 1940.
John grew up in San Francisco and moved to Petaluma in 1982 with his wife and family. He met his wife Senobar Najafi in Walnut Creek and they married in 1973 at Sacred Heart Church in Naalehu, Hawaii. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1958, he became a Merchant Mariner, a landscape designer, and went on to spend most of his working life as an electrician.
John was an avid model railroader, electronics hobbyist, photographer, horticulturist, and jack of all trades. He enjoyed hiking throughout Sonoma County and took yearly trips with his family to Yosemite National Park, where he achieved his goal of climbing Half Dome. Music played an important role in John’s life. He enjoyed dancing and listening to rock ‘n’ roll, blues, and jazz. John will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his sense of humor, charisma, and quick wit.
He is survived by his wife Senobar (Najafi) Daly; daughter, Shereen Daly; son, John Joseph Daly V; aunt, Phyllis Honodel; sister, Catherine Prefach; brothers, Stephen and Gregory Daly; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
