Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00AM, Monday July 24, 2017 in Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Rd., Abilene under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St.John was born on January 15, 1935 in San Francisco, CA to John Lino De Alba and Margaret Alaimo. His education led him to obtain an Associate's Degree and was employed as an electrician at Merkel Independent School District before retirement. He also proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars retiring after 24 years of service. John married Lou Alice Caffey in Abilene on March 15, 1979 and had lived in the Abilene area since 2002. John is preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Tony De Alba. Survivors include his wife, Lou De Alba of Abilene; a daughter, Julie Hindman of Arlington; a son, Jay De Alba of Ft. Worth; stepchildren, Susan Bennett and husband, Marc of Austin; John Greathouse of Abilene; and Sandra Duke of Canyon, TX.You may view and sign the guestbook at www.elliotthamilfuneralhomes.com
