John Manu, a beloved resident of Kumasi, Ashanti, passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on July 14, 1933 to Kofi Manu and Madam Ama Foda, John lived a fulfilling life dedicated to his community. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to helping others. John leaves behind a legacy of compassion and selflessness that will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace knowing that his memory will forever be cherished. John Manu as his mortal remains lie. before us now. J.K Manu as he was affectionately called by his work colleagues, and friends; Wofa John by his family and most people who met him.

He was the fifth child born to his mother amongst the many siblings of their parents. John Manu as a boy was very handsome, respectful and obedient, winning him the admiration of all who came his way. he attended ausoyeboah and kwadaso SDA school. he later went on to attend a private technical school at Bompata.

John Manu passion for Art and Design at the college paved the way for him to work in designing department at Kumasi GIHOC footwear operation. He had the opportunity to travel to Czech Republic under two scholarship to study shoe designing and related components.

He worked for GIHOC shoe factory for some years on his return to ghana as their designing manager and few years later moved to Kumasi GIHOC fibre product company ltd(Kumasi jute factory).He later resigned to start his own building and construction work as a property developer and later enter shoe trading with his wife at Roman hill where he later became chairman of their trading association for tenure in the roman hill office near Kumasi central market.

He was married and had four healthy children. Felicia Mensah, Kwame Frimpong, Kwame Bediako Frimpong and Kofi Agyeman. He left behind many ground children in Ghana and abroad.

He enjoyed playing soccer and was always in kwadaso middle school team as a defender. he was a naturalist and appreciated nature by going to the farm to get his hands dirty by plantain seedlings. J.K Manu loved music and dancing and was a member of Kumasi yougsters club where he interacted with DKC.
