John E. "Big Bird" Leisen1947 - 2016John E. "Big Bird" Leisen, 68, of Twin Lakes, Wis., died suddenly Saturday evening, July 9, 2016, in the Town of Randall, Wis. John Eric Leisen was born on Dec. 16, 1947, in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late John and Shirley Jean (Swanson) Leisen. John graduated from Carl Schurz High School in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant from Dec. 27, 1966, until Dec. 9, 1970. He served in Vietnam and earned the Good Conduct Medal, The National Defense Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He lived in Chicago, Lake Zurich, and Elgin before moving to Twin Lakes in 2003. John worked for over 30 years for United Airlines at Chicago OHare Airport. He enjoyed fixing anything and everything and was an old school biker. Above all, he loved his family and was a friend to everyone. John is survived by Linda Leisen and Maribeth Barrons; two sons, Jeff (Julie) Leisen of Cary Ill., Brett (Candee) Leisen of Twin Lakes Wis.; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Samantha and Genevieve; one brother-David (Roberta) Leisen of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; one niece Carrie (Matt) Jura; one nephew Kevin (Lauren) Leisen; four great nieces and nephews, Max, Payton, Riley and Leah; and his many dear friends.Visitation for John E. Leisen will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory at 620 Legion Drive, Twin Lakes, WI. Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Judy Wang officiating.
