John Leslie Dollar, 63, of Arizona City, Ariz., died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, in Mesa, Ariz., with his loving wife by his side.
He was the youngest of nine children born on Feb. 25,1960, in Albany, Ga., to the late Clarence Lee Dollar and Collie Mae Darley Dollar.
Johnny was a self-proclaimed "mama’s boy" and "simple man". He was loyal, loved by his family and he loved his family. He enjoyed being outside riding his motorcycle or on the water fishing. Johnny also enjoyed visiting the casino; working with his hands making metal and woodcrafts; and cooking, especially his sister Betty’s Brunswick stew. He loved listening to some good, Southern classic rock and roll; Molly Hatchet was one of his favorites as was Lynyrd Skynyrd, which was playing during his last breaths.
He was a master carpet installer, laying carpet for more than 30 years, adding hardwood installation over 20 years ago and was very gifted and talented at his job. He took great pride in his finished products.
Johnny is survived by his wife Linda; brothers Robert (Wanda) Dollar and Clarence L. Dollar, Jr.; brother-in-law Grover Kneece; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews, and his two pups Rudy and Tee Tee.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Lee Dollar and Collie Mae Darley Dollar; stepson Robert Rivens, Jr.; sisters Betty Dollar Kneece, Joyce Dollar, and brothers Bobby Dollar, Jim Dollar, Charles "Butch" Dollar and Ronnie Dollar.
Johnny was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He will be cremated and currently there is no service scheduled.
