John Redmond of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 86 after a long battle with prostate cancer.

John was born on April 28, 1939, to his parents Ronald and Belle Redmond. He married the love of his life, Emma Lee Bentley, in 1979, and together they raised three wonderful children: John Lewis Redmond Jr, David Redmond, and Wanda Redmond Jackson.

John was a proud graduate of Velma Jackson High School, class of 1957. He had a passion for jazz music and race horses, often spending his free time enjoying both hobbies.

He is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 40 years. He is survived by three children and their spouses, as well as his ten adoring grandchildren.

John will be remembered for his infectious laughter, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation in John's memory.
