“Peace. It is a providence, and no great change; we are only what we always were, but naked now.”
On the day of March 30th, 1632, the life story of John Proctor started, Proctor was known to be an innocent man, and so he died that way too. His emotions displayed love and hate, sadness and joy; these were all written up in the Book of God, the almighty father. On August 19th, 1692, the last entry was written in his book; then, his book was closed to be unopened again. Many would agree that he was a kind-hearted, selfless, and godly individual, as others would beg to differ. People come and go but the memories they've left us with will forever cease to exist. People lost sight of who John was resulting in his death. In caring for their own lives, along with adding to the unnecessary panic, murders of other innocent lives all rest upon our hands as the people of Salem. Our town has watched him speak his last words, the Lord's prayer, as we should say it once more so his soul lies in peace. "Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. Amen." It's a shame.
