John Quentin BestSept. 20, 1925 - May 31, 2017TulareJohn Quentin Best of Tulare passed away on May 31, 2017. John was born on September 20, 1925 in Statford, OK and moved to Tulare county in 1941. He was married to Norma Jean Best for 71 years and together they had four children. He worked at Arden Creamery (later Knudsen) for 39 years. Following the plants' closure he remained its care-taker for an additional 10 years. He was a teamster member for 39 years, an ardent NRA member and loved to hunt and fish. He believed in God and guns, was active in both the Pixley and Tulare Assembly of God, serving as a deacon for both congregations. For all of the things he did in his life, his family was the center of everything. They are left with many joyful memories of camping at Shaver Lake, trips to the coast or to Texas and many happy times of a life well lived.He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Best, children; Brenda, Larry, Carolyn, and Cheryl, grandchildren; Bryan, Cyndi, Lori, Kristen, Danae, Matt, Crystal and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.There will be a Viewing from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Peers-Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, 132 W. Kern Ave., Tulare. There will be a Graveside Service at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Tulare District Cemetery, 900 E. Kern Ave., Tulare.
