John ZiskaJohn R. Ziska, 80, of Troy, Ill., born on Oct. 20, 1935 in East St. Louis, Ill., died on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 in Belleville, Ill. John was a U.S. Air Force veteran; a former office manager with O'Neil Lumber and R.P. Lumber Companies; and a retired administrative assistant with Illinois Department of Revenue. He was a 4th Degree and past Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator and former District Deputy for Knights of Columbus Council No. 592 in East St. Louis, Ill., Ansar Temple AAONMS in Springfield, Ill., and was one of the founding members of the hospital unit.He was preceded in death by his wife, Genny Ziska, who died June 30, 2008; and parents, John and Florence, nee Waggaman, Ziska.Surviving are his children, Mike (Marcia) Ziska of Caseyville, Ill., and Madeleine (Joe) Osborn of Collinsville, Ill.; a grandson, Robbie (Colleen) Robertson of O'Fallon, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Savanna, Seneca and Brayden Robertson; dear friend, Rose Rebello of Highland, Ill.; stepsons, Michael Wierciak and Jim (Donna) Wierciak; stepdaughter, Diane (Dan) Mueller; and seven step grandchildren.Memorials may be made to the Arbors at Parkway Gardens Memory Care Unit in Fairview Heights, Ill.
