It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Robert “Bob” Cordova, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend. John peacefully passed away on October 13th, 2024, surrounded by his family, at the age of 85.
Born on December 10th, 1938 in Denver, Colorado, John grew up with a passion for sports and a deep love for his community. After graduating from Saint Joseph high school, he went into the United States Coast Guard Reserved.
After his service, John began a long career as a mail carrier, working for more 20 years with the United States Postal Office. Known for his meticulous work ethic, working in several feet of snow.
Outside of work, John was an avid food lover and who loved traveling, trying new things, and learning new things with his family. He spent countless weekends with his grandchildren, passing on his love for history and sports.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Deysi Cruz; his son, Antonio Cruz; his three grandchildren, Ashley, Jocelyn, Prince.
John’s family invites you to celebrate his life at a memorial service on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Desert Memorial, in Las Vegas, NV. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in John’s honor to Redemptorists Denver Province.
John will be remembered for his generosity, his dedication to family, and his unwavering faith. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
