John Robert McKillip John McKillip passed away on January 22, in Olympia, at the age of 58, after a courageous struggle with Alzheimer's. His final moments were in the presence of his loving family. John was born on May 27, 1958, in Spokane WA, to James and Judy McKillip. His family moved a number of times, ultimately settling in western Washington. John attended Kennedy High School and later The Evergreen State College. He met the love of his life, Beverly Weaver, in 1980, and the pair fell for one another right away. John and Beverly were married in 1981, their first daughter, Chelsea, was born in 1983, and their second daughter, Amanda, was born in 1984. A skilled salesman and business manager, John built a successful career in the storage and packaging industry. He had the opportunity to travel the United States extensively during his professional life, living with his family in Olympia, Dallas, Seattle, Boca Raton, and Portland. John is remembered as a man who embraced life with a brilliant optimism, who loved his faith and family deeply, whose generosity, enthusiasm, and wit were boundless. He was admired by colleagues and beloved by all in his large extended family. He lived his life with an intense fire, one that brightened the days of all who knew him. John is survived by his father James, his wife Beverly, his daughters Chelsea and Amanda, his siblings Kathy, Michelle, Michael, Susie, and Linda, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Judy, who left this life just over a year ago. A celebration of John's life will be held Saturday, January 28 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Chapel, 919 Division St NW, Olympia WA, with a reception to follow at John and Beverly's home.
