John A. "Jack" SrokaLANCASTER: John Anthony "Jack" Sroka, 80 of Lancaster formerly of Pittsburgh passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. He was born on April 4, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA. Jack served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Manufacturer's Representative for the Heavy Duty Trucking Industry. On March 1, 2005, Jack took a big leap and formed his own company, Jack Sroka Company LLC and continued to have a successful sales career, earning numerous salesman of the year awards. Jack had a passion for bowling. He was inducted into the Greater Pittsburgh Bowling Hall of Fame (1990), K of C Art Bevenger Sportsmanship Award (2002), Southeastern Ohio USBC Area Bowling Hall of Fame (2016). Jack was a member of the FOE Eagles, Moose, and K of C.Additionally, he bowled 50 years in the USBC Open Championships. The first Open Championships was held in 1901. If you were to add all the teams together over the years and multiply by five, you'd be beyond three million bowlers, but many have competed more than once. As of 2016 there have been 205 bowlers in history with 50 years of bowling, Jack was No. 203.Jack is survived by his wife of 30 years Becky (Turner) Sroka; children: Jacqueline Sroka, Pittsburgh, John Sroka, Pittsburgh, Shane Tyler (Trish), stepson, Lancaster; grandchildren: Darrien (Emily Cramer) Sroka, Devin Sroka, John Sroka III, all from Cranberry Township, PA, Keiton Tyler, Lancaster; great-great grandchildren: Abby Sroka; brothers and sisters: Martha Kuzmovich, Dolores Kszastowski, Paul Sroka; sister and brother in-laws: Judy (Tom) Gasser, Shelly (Bill) Deville, Barry Turner, Scott Turner; numerous nieces and nephews; friend: Ray Valerino, Pittsburgh.He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Mary (Dabkowski) Sroka, brothers and sisters: Anna Johnson, Harry Sroka, Frank Sroka, Marie Debski, Jeanie Repasky, sister and brother In-laws: Mike Turner, Ruth Sroka, Mike Kszastowki, Charles Kuzmovich, Martha Sroka, and Josie Sroka.Visitation will be on Friday April 28, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. at the Sheridan Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday April 29 at the Sheridan Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday April 30, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. at the Boron Funeral Home, Pittsburgh, PA. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday May 1, 2017 at the Boron Funeral Home.
