It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John T. Hibdon, who left this world on October 30, 2024, at the age of 59. John was born on May 8, 1956, in Monument, KS. From a young age, he demonstrated a spirit of kindness and generosity that would define his life. John was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of his community. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed.
John is survived by his five beloved children: Rachel Johnson (Mark), Joshua Hibdon (Sarah), Olivia Burnette (David), Michaela Hibdon and Andrew Hibdon. He was a proud grandfather to six wonderful grandchildren: Ethan, Mia, Lily, Noah, Ava, and Lucas. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, compassion, and strength. John was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them, whether celebrating milestones or enjoying simple family gatherings.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Hibdon, whose love was the foundation of his life, and his parents, Thomas and Eleanor. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and support, values that John instilled in his own children.
Throughout his life, John was passionate about giving back to his community. He volunteered his time with various local charities and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His infectious smile and positive spirit brought joy to everyone around him, and he was known for his ability to make friends wherever he went.
A celebration of life will be held in John’s honor on November 7, 2024, at Loose Park, located at 5200 Wornall, Kansas City, Missouri 64112. The gathering will begin at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, laughter, and cherished memories of John. We encourage everyone to bring photographs and memories to share, as we honor a life well-lived.
In our hearts, John will remain forever loved and remembered. His legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
