John V. "Jack" NollMETAMORA - John V. "Jack" Noll, 77, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 6:55 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at his residence.He was born on September 1, 1939, in Metamora, IL, to Ethel M. (Seckler) Noll. He married Brenda J. Elliott on May 16, 1964, in Metamora, IL. She passed away on July 23, 2007.Surviving are his two sons, Chad (Angela) Noll of Elmwood and Matthew (Neagan Taylor) Noll of Washington; grandchildren, Joshua (The Dude), Emily, Payton, Madison and Kaitlyn; and sister, Janet Noll of Metamora.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Steven and Larry Noll; and sister, Judith Hartman.Jack was in the Marines Reserves and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked in manufacturing at Caterpillar. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.Jack was a wonderful husband to Brenda and a great dad to his boys. He enjoyed watching his sons play sports and coaching their baseball teams. One of his greatest passions was playing bluegrass music on his Martin guitar. He enjoyed playing music up in Metamora Square, especially with his cousin, Roger Seckler. Later in life, he became a huge World War II enthusiast and wine maker. Jack also enjoyed a nice conversation on the porch with his wonderful neighbors. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Therefore, everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite Cubs attire to the visitation.A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora, with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at 3:30 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel, with visitation following from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
