Battersby, John Vincent 59, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2017, after a valiant battle with leukemia. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his journey and gave him much peace. John was born on May 10, 1958, in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended elementary school in the Valley and graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 1976. After completing his bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona John became a physician in 1985 upon graduating from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He maintained a thriving family practice in Phoenix for more than 30 years. John was blessed with a loving family, faithful friends, and devoted patients. He married the love of his life, Cheryl, in 1990, and together they raised their daughter, Ashley Vu. With his family and friends John enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching sports and movies. In his medical practice he took great pleasure in helping his patients achieve optimal health. We will all miss John's warm personality, his great sense of humor, and his uncanny ability to put others at ease.
