Kane Sr. , John W.John W. Kane Sr., age 85, Pittsville, died on Monday, June 19, 2017 at his home in the Town of Sherwood, Clark County. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at St. Joachim Catholic Church. Burial will take place in St. Joachim Cemetery and grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville and from 10:00 am on Thursday until service time at St. Joachim Catholic Church. The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 6:30 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. John was born on March 4, 1932 in Iron River, Michigan, to Raymond and Olive (Brickner) Kane. He was a 1951 graduate of Pittsville High School. As a young man, he began farming with his parents and later in addition to farming, he became employed at Nekoosa Papers, where he worked for 20 years. He then continued to farm until retirement. John was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus Maryheart Council #10522 of Pittsville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He married Noris Miller on November 12, 1952 at St. Joachim Catholic Church. She died in 1993. He later married Ruth Smith on June 5, 1995. John is survived by his wife, Ruth and his children, John "Jack" Kane, Jr. of Pittsville, Dan Kane of Pittsville, Joan (Gary) Korger of Nekoosa, Deb (Dan) Ostrowski of Wisconsin Rapids, and Jeff (Diana) Kane of Cedarburg and a stepdaughter, Sandy Miltimore of Stevens Point. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jim (Marcy) Kane, Ray Kane, Amy (Troy) Holford, Samantha Kane, Thomas (Chelsea) Kane, Kim (Randy) Zabel, Jeremy (Sarah) Korger, Alex (Tracy) Ostrowski, Elizabeth (Tessa) Ostrowski, Andrew Kane and Matthew Kane, step grandchildren, Lisa Mullins, Kelly (Herb) King and Rebecca (Christy) Miltimore, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons expected. He is further survived by 2 sisters, Delores (Richard) Seidl of Cable and Genevieve (Everett) Redmond of Arpin and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill & Luann Hiles of Wisconsin Rapids.
