MAXTON — John Wesley Clark, 63, passed away on Dec. 5, 2014 at the Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
John Wesley was born on Sept. 20, 1951 in Scotland County, son of the late Locke Clark and Carrie Mae Chavis Clark. He worked as an automotive mechanic retiring after many years of service. He was a member of the House of Prayer, enjoyed watching racing and western movies and truly loved spending time with his family.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings Willie Clark, Locke Clark, Jr., James Clark, Carrie Neal Clark, Mae Helen Clark and Vashtie Lowery.
He is survived by his wife Annie "Ann" Mae Caulder Clark of the home, sons James W. Clark, Jonathan "Wayne" Clark both of Maxton, and Jonathan "Eric" Clark of Laurel Hill, daughters Melissa Ann Clark Strickland (Lance Strickland) of Maxton and Crystal Clark of Laurinburg, brothers Donald Ray Clark (Savannah) of Maxton and JC Clark (Janie) of Laurinburg, sisters Elouise Locklear (Tom) of Laurel Hill, Sadie McGirt of Laurinburg, Vera Lee Locklear of Laurel Hill, Nora Neal Locklear of Laurinburg, and Callie Mae Oxendine of Red Springs, 11 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m. with the funeral services beginning at 7 p.m. at the House of Prayer in Maxton. A private interment will be held at a later date.
