Johnathan Weems was born September 30, 1940, Detroit Michigan to the parents of Monroe Weems and Carrie Bell Weems, Johnathan was the youngest of 14 children.
Johnathan accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Messiah Baptist Church he attended Detroit Northwestern high school after graduation he moved to Fort Benning GA and worked for a trucking company driving long-haul with his brother Monroe before landing a job at the Chrysler Corporation where he worked for 42 years.
Johnathan later met and married his wife Barbara from this union two sons were born Steven and Gregory Weems although the marriage didn’t last long he was a devoted father to his sons. He enjoyed spending long weekend camping and fishing with them. Johnathan was more like a big brother than an uncle, he provided many hours of fun for his nieces and nephews and cousins every Fourth of July he would purchase tons of fireworks and light up the sky for all the kids in the neighborhood. Even though he was the youngest brother he was always there when his brothers and sister need him.
On Monday, August 6, 2018, the Lord called Johnathan home. He leaves to cherish his memories: Mrs. Shelia Watson his companion soul mate; two sons Stephen Weems and Gregory Weems; Two sisters Mrs. Dorothy Hunt and Mrs. Catherine Wallace; One brother Joseph Weems; Four grandchildren Tiaira Way, Marcel Way, Tionne Smith, and Taylor Brown.
