Johnny Robertson SandersMemphis, TNJohnny Robertson Sanders, 75, passed away on February 8, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on December 4, 1941 in Vicksburg, MS. He was the son of Robert John Sanders and Avie Beatrice (Parks) Sanders. Johnny was a truck driver employed by Time DC, ANR Graves, and Consolidated Freightways. He retired after 35 years. At the time of his passing he was employed as a security officer at Bellevue Baptist Church, where he worked for 14 years. Johnny was well known for his generosity and compassion for others. Close to his heart were widows and those passing through Memphis in need. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Sanders of Memphis; his son Johnny Sanders Jr. and his wife, Michelle; his son Ron Stephens and his wife, Shannon; his daughters Stephanie Stephens, Susan Coleman and her husband Charlie, and Angel Easterling and her husband Jay; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Rosemary Boucher and brother Robert Sanders. Johnny was devoted to his wife and family. He especially enjoyed playing with and reading to his youngest grand- children. He became a Catholic in 1997 with guidance from Monsignor John McArthur. A Requiem Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 18 at St. Louis Catholic Church at 203 S. White Station Rd., Memphis, TN 38117. A graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery will follow.
