It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Jolene Patterson, a beloved member of the Winchester, Virginia community, who peacefully passed away on September 6, 2023. Born on October 30, 1947, to her loving parents, Jimmy Dean Leroy and Valence Tryson, Jolene lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for life.
In 1966, Jolene embarked on a beautiful journey of love and devotion when she married her soulmate, Pete Patterson. Their union was blessed with three incredible children who brought immeasurable joy to their lives. Paula McClain, Marvin Patterson, and Kelly Schumacher and their respective spouses, Jesse, Linda, and Tim, were the apples of Jolene's eye.
Jolene found immense fulfillment in her career as a Pre-School Teacher, where she joyfully nurtured the young minds of countless children in Winchester. Her patience, kindness, and dedication left an indelible mark on the lives of those she taught.
Throughout the years, Jolene cherished her role as a doting grandmother to four wonderful grandchildren. Their names need not be mentioned, but Jolene reveled in every moment spent with them, creating precious memories that will be treasured forever.
Jolene faced life's challenges with an indomitable spirit, always armed with her infectious sense of humor. She had a knack for bringing smiles to the faces of those around her, effortlessly brightening even the dullest of days.
Tragically, Jolene's journey came to an end due to complications from Bone Marrow Cancer. As we honor her memory, let us remember the laughter she brought, the love she shared, and the unwavering strength she exhibited throughout her lifetime.
Preston and Sons of Winchester is Serving the family. Arrangements are being held for burial out of the country so a celebration of life will be held in the late fall. Funeral Director Julie Preston is taking care of the family with love and sympathy.
Though Jolene will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. Let us celebrate her life and find solace in knowing that she now rests in eternal peace, watching over us all with her radiant smile.
