1953 ~ 2016Jon Robert Hodge passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. He was born on September 23, 1953, beloved son of Marjorie Brown and James W. Hodge. Jon lived the last years of his life at the Avalon Care Center where so many cared for him, and he in turn loved and cared for everyone. He took pride in serving others and always had a big smile on his face. Jon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he was also affiliated with the Catholic Church and the Philadelphia Church. Jon loved religion. He loved blessing and passing the sacrament. Thanks to all those who cared for and loved Jon. Jon is survived by his brother, James (Sandy) of Texas; sister, Robyn (Robert) of Idaho; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and long- time girlfriend, Carolyn. Preceded in death by his parents.There will be a memorial service on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at the Avalon Care Center in the Activity Room, 2472 South 300 East, followed by a viewing that evening from 6:00-8:00 pm. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 from10:00-10:45 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah.
