Jonathan Perry Deeter, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 18, 2024, in Coal Valley, Illinois, at the age of 96. He was born on March 5, 1927, to Jesse and Ada Florence Deeter in Coal Valley, Illinois.
Jonathan is survived by his loving partner, Merle Hufziger, whom he shared many wonderful years with. He is also survived by his five children: David Deeter (Karen), Carol Geaslen (Jim), Daniel Deeter, Elaine Breiner (Chuck) and Donna Foudray (Michael).
Throughout his life, Jonathan was a dedicated father and grandfather, adored by his twelve grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren. He graduated from Milton Union High School and went on to serve in the US Navy with honor.
Jonathan worked at NCR for 29 years before retiring in 1995. He was a hardworking man who provided for his family and instilled in them the values of integrity and perseverance.
In his free time, Jonathan enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds play. He was a devoted fan and never missed a game if he could help it. His passion for baseball was infectious, and he enjoyed sharing that love with his family and friends.
Jonathan Deeter will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
